Inspector Notes

An unannounced focused monitoring inspection was conducted on June 18, 2024, between the hours of 9:00am - 9:45am. There were 10 children (32 points) directly supervised by 2 caregivers. The inspector reviewed compliance in the area of background checks and supervision. Children were observed playing outside, napping and participating in group play. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on record review, the family day home did not keep a written record of children in attendance each day.
Evidence:
1. On the date of inspection, the number of children in care did not match the attendance record.
2. When asked if Child #1 (Age: 1 Year) was in attendance on the date of inspection, Caregiver #1 stated that Child #1 was enrolled but not in attendance today.
3. Caregiver #1 then confirmed that Child #1 was in attendance on the date of inspection and was missing from the attendance record.
Plan of Correction: I will sign the children in as soon as they arrive.
