Inspector Notes

An unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted this date. A total of 9 children(23pts) with 2 staff were onsite when the Inspector arrived. Majority of the children were napping either on cots or cribs. Walk through of the home was conducted with a focus on the programming area. The home was maintained and provided age appropriate toys and equipment for the children currently in care. A total of 3 children, all staff and household records were reviewed today. Based on observation of diapering, the diapering surface was not a nonabsorbent washable area.
Evidence:
Staff was observed changing a child's diaper directly on carpet flooring.
Plan of Correction: Provider will purchase a changing mat to use while children are napping in the room with the changing table.
Standard 8VAC20-800-960-B
Based on observation, one child who cannot hold their own bottle was not held while being bottle fed.
Evidence:
Staff was observed placing a child in a swing and bottle fed this child.
Plan of Correction: We will always hold the children while bottle feeding unless they can hold their own bottles.
