Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 1/25/23 from 11:45am to 1:00pm with the provider and one assistant. There were six children in care, ranging in age from seven-months to three-years-old, for a total of 15 points. Children were observed having free play, washing hands, eating a snack and washing up, playing outside, and an infant was observed napping. Four child records, the provider record, one assistant record, and one household member record were reviewed. The provider and assistant have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider reports that they do not give medication at this time and understands that they must obtain certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to give medication in the future. Lunch today was chicken and rice, broccoli, bananas, and milk. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, and fire extinguisher were observed. Required postings, the emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
