(Repeat violation) The provider is required to maintain a written hard copy of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. One child was present during inspection. There was not documentation of attendance for this day. Attendance was documented for previous days including the day prior.
Plan of Correction: Attendance was documented during inspection. When a parent does not sign a child in, provider will do it.
Standard 8VAC20-790-260-C-2
Electrical outlets shall have protective covers that are of a size that cannot be swallowed by children. Two electrical outlets by the sink in the bathroom were not capped. The bathroom is used by children and the outlets were accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: Outlet covers were added during inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-790-270-A
(Repeat Violation) The provider is required to store potentially poisonous substances, materials, and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants, deodorizers, plant care chemicals, pesticides, and petroleum distillates in areas inaccessible to children. In the restroom that the children use, there was a gallon size bleach container on the floor by the toilet and multiple cleaning products under the sink in an unsecured cabinet. In the kitchen, there was a gallon size bleach container on the floor. All of these items were located in areas accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: Bleach containers were moved to laundry room on a top shelf. The cabinet under the bathroom sink was secured during the inspection to prevent children from access.
Standard 8VAC20-790-400-H
(Repeat Violation) The provider is required to store all medications in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. There were three over the counter medications on the kitchen table, accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: Medication was moved to provider's bedroom that is kept locked.
Standard 8VAC20-790-430-A-2
Shelter-in-place procedures shall be practice twice a year. One shelter-in-place drill was conducted in 2025.
Plan of Correction: A shelter-in-place drill was completed. A note was written on the drill sheet as a reminder to do two drills each year.
Standard 8VAC20-790-430-B
The provider shall maintain a record of the dates of practice drills for one year. There was documentation describing a lockdown drill but the date was not documented.
Plan of Correction: Dates will be documented whenever a drill is conducted.
