Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:15 am - 1:00 pm. There were 46 children in care being supervised by 9 staff members. The children were observed participating in structured center play, circle time, and preparing for lunch. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Five children's records were reviewed and were in compliance. Five staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of five staff records it was determined that not all records contained documentation of an out of state central registry check for staff who have resided outside of Virginia within the last five years. Evidence: The record for staff A (start date: 05/09/2022) did not have documentation of an out of state central registry check for the states listed on staff A's sworn statement form.
Plan of Correction: Administration will request an out of state central registry check for Staff A.
