Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/02/2022. At the time of entrance, 14 children were in care with 1 staff member present in the classroom. The classroom was over ratio during the inspection. A volunteer was present in the classroom with children, but did not count in staff to child ratios. The 2nd classroom did not have children present and had 1 staff member present. The children were observed working on handwriting skills. The site was clean and contained a supply of developmentally appropriate materials. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. There were no medications on site. The center did not have a person on site or available with MAT training. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Please contact me if you have any questions at Stacy.Doyle@doe.virginia.gov or 571-835-0386.
