Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated and concluded on 10/25/2021. There were 28 children present with 6 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care within 90 days of employment as required.

Evidence:
1. The record of staff #3 (DOH: 1/28/2021) contained documentation of the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff dated 08/02/2021.
2. Administration acknowledged that the training had not been completed within 90 days of employment.
Plan of Correction: Preservice training will be completed within 90 days of employment or have employment paused until completed.
