Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A code compliance inspection was conducted on May 20, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 25 children present and eight staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on record review, in one of three staff records reviewed, the center did not obtain all required out of state background checks from staff member's who have resided outside of the state of Virginia within the past five years.

Evidence: The Director confirmed that they had not obtained an out of state sex offender registry check and an out of state search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry for Staff #3 who indicated on the sworn statement as to living outside of the state of Virginia within the last five years.
Plan of Correction: We will submit the request for the needed background checks and forward evidence of request and results to the licensing inspector.
