Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 3/26/2021 and concluded on 4/5/2021. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 16 children present and four staff. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and one staff record to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined a non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Based on review of one staff record, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that all staff had a completed search of the central registry (CPS) check on file within 30 days of employment.

Evidence:
Staff #1 (date of hire 8/7/20), who was on duty with the children at the time of the inspection, did not have a completed CPS check on file.
Plan of Correction: Director of the facility is working with the Office of Background Investigations to locate the missing check.
