Violations

2
Standard 8VAC20-800-210-A
Based on a review of records and interview, the licensee did not obtain a minimum of 16 hours or annual training relevant to her job responsibilities.
Evidence:
The record for the licensee did not contain any documented training for the last 12 months.
The licensee confirmed that she had not obtained any annual training within the last 12 month period.
Plan of Correction: The licensee stated that she will begin accruing new training for the upcoming licensure period in order to ensure she has time to meet the training requirements for the upcoming year.
Standard 8VAC20-800-570-A
Based on observation and interview, the licensee exceeded the assigned point total of 16 points for the children in care, but did not have an additional caregiver to assist in their care.

Evidence:
At 3:35 pm there were 8 children in care, ages 1 year to 4 years old, with a point total equaling 20 points.
The provider stated that she did not have an additional caregiver present and acknowledged that the point assignment was 20 points.
At 3:45, one child was picked up, bringing the total down to 16 points.
Plan of Correction: The licensee stated that due to the Holiday Closure on Monday, some families who would not normally attend this day brought children in on the current day. In addition, the licensee's occasional back up provider was unavailable to assist her. The licensee stated that she also did not realize she was over the 16 point total.
The licensee will remind families that they must communicate with her about schedule deviations and she will ensure she has adequate staffing before allowing the child to come for care.
