Inspector Notes

An unannounced complaint inspection was initiated and completed on 8/7/2023. Inspector responded to allegations received on August 3,2023. Complainant alleged adult- to child ratios were not being maintained, sanitation policies were not be followed as well as improper transportation policies.

The inspector was on site from 10:15am until 2:00pm. Findings were reviewed on 8/7/2023. There were 21 children, ages 5 to 10 years old under the supervision of 3 staff.

Information gathered during the investigation determined the complaint to be valid and in non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-560-J
Based on observation, the center failed to ensure tables shall be sanitized before and after each use for feeding.

Evidence:
The lunch tables were cleaned with a Lysol wipe before lunch. Lysol wipes are not considered as proper sanitation.
Plan of Correction: Will use sanitizing solution on tables moving forward.

Based on observation and interview, the center failed to ensure any vehicle used by the center for the transportation of children shall meet the following requirements: The vehicle shall meet the safety standards set by the Department of Motor Vehicles and shall be kept in satisfactory condition to assure the safety of children.
