8VAC20-790 Subsidy Regulations

During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above, to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

A subsidy inspection was initiated and completed on March 10, 2025. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-B
Within the first 90 days of employment all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care. Staff #2 did not complete the preservice training for 2024 and has been employed at the center for five months.
Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following: Staff #2 will complete the preservice training for 2025 this week and send the certificate of completion to the DOE.
Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
All staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days of the date of
employment a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate
to the ages of children in care. Staff #2 that has been employed for five months did not have a current certificate in CPR.
Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following: The center had CPR class scheduled for last week however Staff #2 was unable to attend. The CPR class has been rescheduled later this month to ensure that all staff members at the center are able to participate and attend to complete their required certification.
