An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted today. There were a total of 11 children(27pts) with the Provider and 1 assistant. At the beginning of the inspection the children were seated on the floor waiting to wash their hands before lunch time. The children were provided a doodle board to engage with while waiting their turn. The children were assisted with sitting either at the table with bucket seats for the younger children or a smaller table for the older children. Lunch today was macaroni and cheese, edamame, fresh cantaloupe and milk to drink. Ample amount for second servings if requested. The staff closely monitored the children while they ate. Observation of the middle level of the home which the crib room is located, kitchen area and lower level programming space was made. No medication needs at this time. No identified food allergies currently. The home was found maintained and equipped with toys, books and supplies age and stage appropriate for the children currently in care. The backyard was observed which was equipped with play sets, equipment and large areas for gross motor play. A total of 7 children's files and both staff files were reviewed. This inspection occurred between 12pm and 1:30pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
