Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted virtually with the director, who was present with forty-one children and eleven staff were providing supervision. The ages of the children ranged from 17 months to 6 years.

Two staff and two children's files were reviewed. The areas of the standards reviewed included administration, staff qualifications and training, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programs, special care provisions and emergencies and special services.

Upon receipt of the background check for staff A, please forward a copy to Licensing. The violation is outlined on the violation notice.

Based on interview and a review of staff files, it was determined that the center had not obtained an out of state criminal history background check from New Mexico for staff A , which is required prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
Staff A was hired on 10/13/21 and there is no out of state background check from New Mexico.
Plan of Correction: The background check was sent off on 10/17/21. I will check on the status and in the future I will make sure to obtain out of state criminal records check prior to employment.
