Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on 02/24/2022 and concluded on 03/14/2022. There were 17 children present with three staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on a review of three staff records and interview, the vendor did not ensure one staff member completed the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment.

Evidence: 1) The Virginia Preservice Training certificate in the record for Staff #3, hired on 07/22/21, was dated 02/24/22. 2) During interview, a member of management reported Staff #3 did not complete the Virginia Preservice Training within 90 days of employment.
Plan of Correction: Corrected. In the future, staff will complete the Virginia Preservice training within the required time frame.
