Inspector Notes

This monitoring inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 08/09/2022, between the hours of 9 am to 11:30 am. There were 84 children present, ranging from infant to school-age, with 16 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records, and 7 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined that there were (2) non-compliances with the applicable standards. These violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Standard 8VAC20-780-260-A
Based on review, current documentation of an annual fire inspection report was not available for review at the time of inspection.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (08/09/2022), the most recent fire inspection was dated - 03/24/2021.
2. This was confirmed by the Center Director on the date of inspection.
Plan of Correction: Will call to schedule with Fairfax County Fire Marshal.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Based on observation, a staff person did not wash their hands with soap and running water before and after a diaper change.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (08/09/2022), within the Infant C Room, Staff #3 did not was her hands after diapering Child #6.
2. Staff #3 was observed wearing gloves. The hands of Child #6 was also not washed after diapering.
Plan of Correction: Will talk to all applicable staff about diapering procedures.
