Inspector Notes

Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection took place between the hours of 1:25pm and 3:00pm. There were 2 classrooms observed with a total of 20 children with 3 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed napping during todays inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice.

Standard 8VAC20-780-140-A
Based on record review, the program has not obtained a physical exam for each child within the first 30 days of attendance.
Evidence: Child #3 (date of enrollment: 8/11/2022) record does not contain a physical exam.
Plan of Correction: I can ask the family to bring a complete physical form.
Standard 8VAC20-780-260-A
Based on record review and interview, the center has not obtained an annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction.
Evidence: The most recent documented fire inspection is dated 7/20/2021. The center director confirmed that the program has not received an annual fire inspection.
Plan of Correction: We paid the fee and we've been calling to have someone come out to inspect but haven't been able to schedule the visit. I will make sure the owner calls to get the inspection done.
