Inspector Notes

An unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place on November 20, 2023 between the hours of approximately 9:20 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. There were 2 classrooms observed with a total of 19 children with 3 staff. The children were observed celebrating a birthday, engaging in free play and other organized activities. Positive interaction between staff and children were observed. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, and fire drill log was conducted during this inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review, the center failed to obtain results of a central registry search for 1 out of 3 staff.

Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that when outdoor activity is not adjacent to the center, at least two staff members were in the outdoor activity area whenever one or more children are present.

Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that staff-to-children ratios were maintained whenever children ages birth to 16 months were in care.

Evidence: Staff #1 was observed alone in a classroom with five children from approximately 9:20 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Child #3 (age: 1 year) was present in the classroom. The ratio for children ages birth to 16 months is 1:4.
