Inspector Notes

This monitoring inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 06/14/2022, between the hours of 9:30 am to 11 am. There was 1 infant child present (4 points), with 1 caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 2 children records, 1 staff record, and 3 household records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined that there were (2) two non-compliances with the applicable standards. These violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-520-E
Based on observation, crib bumper pads were observed being used on (1) one crib within the Family Day Home (FDH).

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (06/14/2022), a crib intended for the use by Child #2, was observed to have a bumper pad installed.
2. Child #2 was in care on the date of inspection.
Plan of Correction: Pads will be removed.

Based on review, the Provider did not document in writing the annual review of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EP&RP) for the Family Day Home (FDH).

Evidence -
1. The FDH's EP&RP plan was observed posted on the parent bulletin board in the main area where child care is provided.
2. The last review documented in writing was dated - 11/07/2019.
Plan of Correction: The EP&RP will be reviewed and documented.
