Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/26/2024 at approximately 9:43am and concluded on 04/26/2024 at approximately 10:45am. There was a total of 11 children (29 points) observed with 3 caregivers present. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, puzzle activities, art, music and eating morning snack. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel and household members, physical environment, care of children, emergencies and nutrition. There was an assortment of age-appropriate materials for the children in care. A total of 2 child records and 5 caregiver/household member records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review, the provider did not obtain an updated criminal background check every five years.

Evidence: Staff #1?s record did not contain an updated criminal history record check as the last criminal history search record expired on March 13th, 2024.

Based on record review and interview, the provider did not obtain a results of a criminal history record check and a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from any state in which the staff member had resided in the preceding five years.

Evidence:
As per provider statement and review of Staff #2?s record, the staff member had lived outside of the state of Virginia in the preceding five years, and no out of state record search had been obtained for child abuse and neglect and criminal history

Evidence:
