During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 10/29/24. The on-site inspection began at 12:50 pm and ended at 2:15 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 2 children present and 1 caregiver; the point total was 5. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 1 caregiver/household member(s) record on-site.

This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-210-A
Repeat violation:
Caregivers shall obtain a minimum of sixteen clock hours of training annually.

Caregiver #1 had 14 of the 16 training hours for 2023.
Plan of Correction: I will obtain the additional hours.
Standard 8VAC20-800-700-A
Prescription medications shall be given to a child only with written authorization from the parent.
There was no parental authorization for an emergency medication for child #1.
Plan of Correction: I will get the medication authorization.
Standard 8VAC20-800-710
The family day home may administered prescription medication to a child provided that the caregiver adminster only medication dispensed from a pharmacy and maintained in the original, labeled container.
1. A prescribed medication for child #1 was not in the original pharmacy container nor did it have a prescription label attached.
Plan of Correction: I will discuss with the parent for the need for the original prescription box.
