Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection related to an Intensive Plan of Correction was started in the center on May 30, 2024 from 1:45 PM until 3:40 PM and concluded on June 3, 2024. At the time of entrance, 13 children were in care with 4 staff members supervising. The areas reviewed included Staff Qualifications/ Training, Staffing/ Supervision and Background Checks.
Children were observed preparing or their afternoon routine after nap, playing outside and infants were freely playing.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review, observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure there shall be in each grouping of children at least one staff member who meets the qualifications of a program leader or program director.

Evidence: There were not qualified staff for one out of four class rooms. Staff #1 was observed alone supervising 3 infants. Center owner confirmed there was not documentation available to indicate Staff #1 meets the qualification for program lead.
Plan of Correction: All staff members were reminded that lead qualified members shall be in each grouping at all times, they were given scenarios of what to do to not have an unqualified member in the classroom alone.
