Inspector Notes

An unannounced, onsite monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/14/2025 and completed on 04/15/2025. The on-site inspection began at 9:20 am and ended at 11:15 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 51 children present and 8 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records.

The inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-245-L
There shall always be at least one staff member on duty who has obtained within the last three years instruction in performing the daily health observation of children.

On 04/14/2025, there was no one on duty that has obtained training in performing the daily health observation of children within the last three years.
Plan of Correction: Will have staff complete.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Children?s hands shall be washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes before and after eating meals or snacks.

Child 4 finished their breakfast and immediately resumed regular activities without washing their hands. Multiple children in Classroom 1 were observed finishing breakfast and immediately resumed regular activities without washing their hands.
Plan of Correction: Children will wash hands after meals.

REPEAT VIOLATION

For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.

There were 11 children present in Classroom 2, there were only 10 children marked present on the attendance record.
Plan of Correction: Will make sure children are checked in as they arrive.
