Inspector Notes

An unannounced code compliance inspection was conducted on 09/15/2025. The on-site inspection began at 11:00am and ended at 12:30am.The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 17 children present with 5 staff. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 6 staff records electronically on 09/23/2025. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable code sections, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22.1-289.031-B-1
The center shall establish and implement procedures for hand washing by staff and
children after toileting. The center staff handbook requires staff to wash their during diapering.

Diapering was observed and staff did not wash their hands or the children's between diapering multiple children.

There were no sinks near the diaper changing stations and the procedure did not address where or how to wash their hands between diapering.

Staff are required to obtain the results of a central registry check. None of the staff had central registry checks. The director confirmed these checks were not requested through the Office of Background Check Investigations.
Plan of Correction: The director has been in contact with the Office of Background Check Investigations and is setting up the account to be able to send for all of the staff's central registry checks. Once they are received a copy will be emailed to the licensing inspector.
