An unannounced Subsidy and Health Inspection was conducted with in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Two staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training and current certification in First Aid and CPR. The most recent lock down drill was documented as 5/31/2022.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-B
Based on a review of documentation, not all the facility staff had documentation of completing Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff A (start date 2/22/2022) did not have a certificate of completion for Virginia Preservice training in their record during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The director will ensure that all staff have completed the preservice training within 90 days of employment. Any staff that have not already completed the training will do so as soon as possible.

Based on a review of documentation, not all of the facility staff had current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff A (start date 2/22/22) did not have documentation of current CPR certification.
Plan of Correction: The director will ensure that all staff will have CPR certification within the required time frame moving forward. Any current staff will complete CPR certification training and documentation will be placed in their file.
