Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on August 28, 2024, and completed on the same day, as part of the provisional licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 3:30 PM and ended at 5:00 PM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 17 children present and 5 staff. The inspector reviewed 6 children?s records and 4 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 9/4/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Based on observation, the facility did not ensure that all staff washed their hands with soap and running water after any contact with body fluids. Evidence: In the toddler classroom, a staff member was observed cleaning a child's nose and not washing their hands afterwards.

Standard 8VAC20-780-570-A
Based on observation, the facility did not ensure that children placed in an infant seat or high chair, were fastened in securely using the protective belt. Evidence: In the infant classroom, there were two children in the seats of a feeding table that were not secured using the protective belt.
