Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/27/2023 from 2:10 pm to 3:15 pm. Staff records were reviewed on 2/28/2023 from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm. There were ten children in care, ages 3 years to 5 years of age in one group under the care of two staff. The Licensing Inspector reviewed three children?s records and three staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. The children were observed napping, washing hands, having snacks, and being read to.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review, the center failed to ensure that new staff completed the VDOE-sponsored orientation course (pre-service) within 90 days of employment.

EVIDENCE:
Staff 3 began employment on 9/12/2022. The pre-service course was completed 2/2/2023.
Plan of Correction: Ensure staff will complete training within 90 days of hire.
