Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. There were thirty children in care being supervised by seven staff. The children were observed resting. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and three staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-780-140-A
Based on review of five children's records it was determined that not all records contained documentation of a physical within the first thirty days of enrollment. Evidence: The record for child A (start date: 07/31/23) did not have documentation of a physical on file.
Plan of Correction: The physical was requested from the parents of child A.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-P
Based on review of medication it was determined that not all medication was sent home with parents within 14 days when the written authorization for medication expires. Evidence: The medication for child B which expired on 11/09/2023 had not been given to parents.
Plan of Correction: Administration will request the parents of child B complete a new written authorization or remove the medication from the facility.
