Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. There were 29 children in care being supervised by 4 staff. The children were observed resting. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records and three staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on review of three staff records it was determined that not all records contained documentation that the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course was completed within 90 days of employment. Evidence: The records for staff A (start date: 10/17/23), staff B (start date: 11/20/23), and staff C (start date: 10/10/22) did not have documentation of completion of the Virginia Pre-Service Orientation training on file.
Plan of Correction: Staff A, B, and C will complete the Virginia Pre-Service Training orientation.
