Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was conducted on 7/17/24. The on-site inspection began at 11:05amand ended at 12:15pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 34 children present and 6 staff. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records on-site. This inspection included:
? document review emergency drill logs, medication administration logs, authorization forms, RECDC postings,
? tour of the facility,
? interviews with staff,
? classroom observations-children were observed eating lunch from home, handwashing and dancing as group activity.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22.1-289.035-B-4
Based on records reviewed and staff interview, the center did not obtain results of an out of state sex offender search and submit a request for an out of state central registry search(CRS) for an employee prior to the employee reporting to the center.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's first day of employment date was 7/1/24.
2. Staff # 2's record indicates that she has lived in Maryland within the past five years.
3. Staff # 2 stated that Staff # 1 is alone with the children during nap time, while the other staff in the room goes on break.
4. Staff # 2 stated that the CRS for Maryland has not been submitted for Staff # 1. The sex offender search results shave also not been obtained for Staff # 1.
Plan of Correction: The CRS will be submitted, and the results will be shared with the licensing inspector as soon as they are received. The sex offender search will be completed.
