Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on June 25, 2024, as a part of the provisional licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 11:30 a.m. and ended at 1:00 p.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 20 children present and 3 staff. Thirty children were on a field trip with 6 staff. The inspector reviewed 0 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, a tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Staff are to complete the VDOE sponsored online orientation course (Pre-service) within 90 days of employment. Staff 1 (date of employment 8/11/2023). Staff 2 (date of employment 5/22/2023), and Staff 3 (date of employment 11/20/2023) do not have documentation of completed training.
Plan of Correction: Staff will complete the 10 hour Virginia Preservice training.

Hazardous substances must be in a locked place that prevents access by children. In the upstairs open classroom, laundry detergent, generic bleach wipes, and an essential oil were in areas accessible to children.
