Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews (if applicable) and a virtual tour of the program (if applicable).

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on 08/25/2021. There were 15 children present with 5 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of three staff records and verification from the director, one staff member failed to complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.

Evidence:
1. The record for Staff Member C did not contain documentation that she had completed Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff which is due to be completed within the first 90 days of employment. The first date of employment for Staff Member C was 02/10/2021.
2. The director confirmed that Staff Member C had not completed the training.
Plan of Correction: The staff member will complete the required training as soon as possible.
