Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 3/3/2022 and concluded on 3/4/2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 28 children is two groups (butterflies and Fireflies) with direct care staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Background checks and trainings were reviewed.
The inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance.

Based on staff statement, there is not a step-on trash can available to dispose of soiled diapers/pull-ups.
Evidence:
Staff stated that no step-on trashcan was available to dispose of soiled diapers or pull ups.
Plan of Correction: Staff will purchase it and place in the bathroom
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-B
Based on record review and staff statement, an authorization for emergency medication is expired.
Evidence:
The current authorization was signed by both the parent and physician 9/2019 and is over a year old.
Plan of Correction: The program administrator will reach out to the parents and request a new authorization. form to be signed by the doctor and parent.
