During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 5/19/2025. The on-site inspection began at 11:45am and ended at 1:38pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 34 children present and seven staff. The inspector reviewed five children?s records and five staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22.1-289.011-F
The license and any other documents required shall be posted in a conspicuous place on the licensed premises. The findings from the most recent inspection, dated 9/13/2024, were not posted in a conspicuous place on the premises.
Plan of Correction: The center will post all required pages of the inspection report.
Standard 8VAC20-780-40-M
The center is required to keep a current list of all known allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions in each room or area where children are present. The list must be dated and kept confidential. The list in the Chickadees room was posted on the front of the cabinets in plain sight.
Plan of Correction: The center will cover the list of allergies in the classroom.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-I
The center administers drugs according to the the prescriber's instructions pertaining to dosage, frequency, and manner of administration. The center could not follow the prescriber's instructions because one of two drugs listed in the allergy action plan was not obtained by the center.
Plan of Correction: The center will obtain the needed medication from the parents.
