Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was completed on 02/14/23 by two inspectors. There were 113 children present with 24 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 7 child records and 10 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 10:25am and concluded at 12:45pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, children's hands were not washed after toileting.
Evidence:
1. The inspector observed children's hands not being washed after diapering in the toddler room, DPS1, and DSP2.
Plan of Correction: Staff will be reminded about hand washing procedures; the director and assistant director will monitor compliance.
Standard 8VAC20-780-560-F
Based on observation, children were not allowed second helpings of food during lunch.
Evidence:
1. In the PreK2 room there was no more chili to have for second helpings.
Plan of Correction: The director will address food portions with the cook and staff.
