Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was completed on 5/8/2025, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:15 am and ended at 12:10 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were (153) children present and (30) staff. The inspector reviewed (10) children?s records and (10) staff records on-site.

This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances must be in a locked place that prevents access by children.
Cleaning solution and sanitizing solution were accessible to children in an unlocked cabinet in the hall bathroom used by the 2 1/2 year old's.
Plan of Correction: The cleaners were immediately stored in a locked closet. Management will provide a locked area in the hall bathroom for the cleaners.
Standard 8VAC20-780-40-E
The operational responsibilities of the licensee shall include ensuring that the center's activities, services, and facilities are maintained in compliance with these standards, the center's own policies and procedures that are required by these standards.
The standards require the center to have methods to prevent outdated medication, Child #1 medication had expired 5 months ago.
Plan of Correction: The parent will be asked to bring in a current dated medication.
