Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, September 14, 2023, to determine the centers compliance with licensing standards. The inspector was on site from approximately 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm. The interim site Director arrived shortly after the inspector?s arrival and assisted with the inspection. Upon the inspector?s arrival there were 20 children in care. Children were playing table games and coloring. An additional 15 children arrived from another elementary school for a total of 35 children with two staff supervising. Children ranged in age from five years to eleven years.
Later children had a snack and played outside. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Staff interacted with children in a positive manner. A total of five child records were reviewed. Three staff records were reviewed virtually on September 18, 2023. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

member completed a national fingerprint check prior to the first day of employment and within the required time frame.

Evidence:

1. The national fingerprint check for Staff #3, hired on 02/05/2023, was dated 02/07/2023 exceeding the first day of employment.
2. An administrator acknowledged the fingerprints background check was not completed prior to employment.

Based on review of five children?s records and interview, the center did not obtain a written care plan for one child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.
