Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on March 20, 2024. There were 21 children present with three staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of four staff records, the center did not ensure one staff completed Virginia preservice training within the first 90 days of employment or subsidy vender approval.

Evidence:

The center obtained subsidy vender approval on 09/16/2022. The record of staff #1, employed 08/24/2022, contained documentation of the Virginia Preservice training dated 06/06/2023, exceeding 90 calendar days from vender approval.
Plan of Correction: Per the administrator: Staff will complete the training within 90 days.
