Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program. A subsidy inspection was initiated on 11/30/21 and concluded on 12/7/21. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on a review of three staff records and interviews, it was determined that the licensee did not ensure that there shall be at least one staff member trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as appropriate to the age of the children in care who is on the premises during the center's hours of operation and also one person on field trips and wherever children are in care.

Evidence:
1. The record for staff #1 did not contain a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
2. The record for staff #3 did not contain a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
3. Staff #3 confirmed that neither staff had a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Plan of Correction: The facility responded: Both staff will complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. We will ensure all staff are certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 90 days of employment.
