Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 02/23/2022. There were 21 children present, ranging in ages from 5 years to 12 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-780-540-B
Based on interview with staff it was determined that items required in the first aid kit were not always easily accessible to staff. Evidence: The staff person in charge was not able to produce the radio and flashlight for the Licensing Inspector (LI) to observe. The director who was not on site during the inspection produced pictures of the flashlight and radio after the inspection was complete. Due to the fact that the flashlight and radio were not able to be located by staff on site during the inspection, those items were not easily accessible as required by the standard.
Plan of Correction: All staff will be trained on where emergency supplies are located.
