8VAC20-790 SUBSIDY REGULATIONS.

Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 07/21/2022. There were 36 children, ages 5 months-5 years, and 9 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programs, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed during breakfast, in free choice activities and going outside to play. The inspector discussed the following with the staff: nutrition, record keeping, training, and outdoor play spaces. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 8:20 am and departed at 11:10 am.

A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements not cover in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with the subsidy requirements and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Based on observation, record review and discussion with staff, the vendor failed to ensure that all staff who work directly with children shall have a current certification in CPR within 90 days of employment.
