Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 03/21/2024. The inspector was on site from 10:15am until 3:30pm.

There were 123 children, ages 2 months to 5years old under the supervision of 26 staff. Children were observed during indoor free play and lunchtime. Ten children's records and eight staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-450-A
Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that cots used by children during the designated rest period shall have linens consisting of a top cover and a bottom cover.

Evidence: In the preschool classroom, the children?s cots had no top bottom sheet on them

Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that there is a nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing. Also, that disposable diapers shall be disposed in a leakproof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot- operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member?s hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the system during disposal.

Evidence:
In the Preschool 2 classroom there was a trashcan beside the changing table. The trashcan had no lid on it. Diapers were visible in the trashcan.
