During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site (monitoring/renewal/focused) inspection was initiated on 3/18/2025 and completed on 3/31/2025. The on-site inspection began at 3:40 pm and ended at 5:10 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 4 children present and 1caregivers; the point total was 15. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 3 caregiver/household members' records, on-site on 3/18/2025. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-330-A
(Repeat Violation) A landline telephone, excluding a cordless or cell phone, that does not require electricity to operate, shall be available, operable, and accessible during the family day home's hours of operation. The licensee was not able to provide documentation to demonstrate that the digital telephone service obtained to operate the telephone in the event of a power outage.
Plan of Correction: The licensee will contact the phone service provider to see if service is available for phone use in a power outage and obtain documentation to demonstrate that it is. If the service provider does not allow for phone service during power outage, then the license will continue to attempt to locate another service provider that can offer the ability to operate during a power outage. If this service is not available in the licensee's locality, then documented attempts will be supplied and an "Allowable Variance" for a landline telephone may be requested.
