Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review and a virtual tour of the program.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on 8/13/2021 and concluded on 8/13/2021. There were eight children present with two staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review and discussion with the vendor, the vendor failed to ensure within the first 90 days of employment or service, all caregivers shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Social Services, which shall include training on the topics and training and modules required by subsidy.

Evidence:

1. The record for Staff 1 did not contain documentation of completed Preservice Training. The documented date of hire for Staff 1 was 4/08/2021. The Vendor confirmed subsidy status of more than 90 days.
