Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 1:05 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. There were five children in care being supervised by the provider for a total of twelve points. The children were observed participating in free play and preparing for rest. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records, one staff record and three household member records were reviewed.

Standard 8VAC20-800-50-A
Based on observation and interviews it was determined that a written record of attendance was next kept each day. Evidence: The attendance record for 04/22/2024 was not complete, there were five children in care during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The provider completed the attendance record during the inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-800-500-F
Based on observation it was determined that trampoline usage was not prohibited during the hours children are in care. Evidence: A trampoline was observed in the family day home basement that four children were actively using during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The provider will remove the trampoline from the basement or keep it off limits during the hours of care.
