Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 2/1/2023 and concluded on 2/1/2023. There were 17 children directly supervised by 5 staff members. Children were observed arriving to the program, story time and art.. The physical plant, 3 child records, 5 staff records, medications, evacuation drills, and emergency supplies were inspected. Information gathered during the inspection determined non- compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on a review of staff record and staff interview, staff has not completed orientation training no later than seven days of the date of assuming job responsibilities.
Evidence: Staff #1, date of hire 11/18/2020 has not completed new employee orientation training.
Plan of Correction: Management will complete the training by Friday of this week.
Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Based on observation and staff interview, areas of the center are not maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence: There was a large hole in the window ledge in the "Green Room". Staff stated that a child put a hole in it this week.
Plan of Correction: The hole will be patched.
