Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 08/13/2024. The on-site inspection began at 11:00 am and ended at 12:30 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 31 children and 8 staff present. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on site. The inspection included: document review, a tour of the facility, interviews and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Based on observations, the center failed to ensure that electrical outlets shall have protective covers in areas used by children of preschool age or younger.

Evidence: There were two uncovered electrical outlets in the younger infant classroom.
Plan of Correction: The outlets were covered during the inspection. Will make sure to keep the outlets covered.
Standard 8VAC20-780-440-L
Based on observations, the center failed to ensure that pillows shall not be used by children under two years of age.

Evidence: Child 5 (16 months) was observed laying on a sleeping bag with an attached pillow during rest time.
Plan of Correction: Pillows will not be allowed.
