Inspector Notes
A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 05/08/2024. The inspector arrived at 10:00 AM and departed at 11:30 AM. There were 38 children present, ranging in ages from infant to 5 years, with 8 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Morning activities and snack time were observed. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview.
Violations
3Evidence:
Staff 1. was hired on 2/8/2024. The tuberculosis screening was obtained on 10/21/2023 which is not within 30 days prior to hire.
In the future, all new employees will be required to obtain a tuberculosis screening within 30 days prior to hire.
Based upon observation, the facility has not ensured that areas and equipment, inside and outside, are maintained to be safe.
Evidence:
1. The door to the electrical closet where the water heater also is located was not locked or inaccessible to the children.
2. The metal clamps holding an electrical wire that runs along the outside wall of the building inside the fenced outdoor play area have come loose allowing the cord be dangle and possibly pose a hazard to the children.
1. The electrical closet will be locked or a child proof latch will be installed and kept latched at all times children are in care.
2. The wire on the playground will be reattached to the wall.
Evidence:
One of the emergency contact persons listed in the record of child 1 does not have the persons street address indicated.
The parent will be required to provide the complete street address for the emergency contact person. All children's records will be checked to ensure the emergency contact information is complete.
