Violations

2
Standard 8VAC20-780-340-F
Based on observation, the center did not ensure children under 10 years of age were always within actual sight and sound supervision of staff.

Evidence:

On 06/26/2023, Ten children from Classroom #7 (Three through Five Years) were observed participating in a tennis clinic located outside on the center's tennis courts. Center staff were not present for approximately 10 minutes while the 10 children were being instructed by two independent contractors.
Plan of Correction: Per the owner: It is our policy that staff stay with children at all times. I will review our policy with the two staff from the classroom.
Standard 8VAC20-780-60-A-8
Based on review of nine children?s records, the center did not have a written allergy action care plan for one child diagnosed with a food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the steps to take in the event of an allergic reaction.

Evidence:

The record for Child #3 (start date 12/28/2020) indicated the child has a diagnosed food allergy. A written food allergy action plan had not been obtained as of 06/26/2023.
Plan of Correction: Per the owner: We will request an allergy care plan from the parents.
