Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was completed on 11/14/2022. There were 26 children present with six staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and three staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 12:00 pm and concluded at 1:45 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Based on observation the center failed to ensure that areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. Under the water fountain, the wall is broken and has sharp edges. This is in the preschool and school age area.
2. The back bathroom door handle is broken and the door has a split in it that is a pinch point.
3. The floor in the hallway to the back bathrooms is broken and cracked. This is a tripping hazard and could cause skin or clothing to be entangled.
Plan of Correction: A work request will be put in with the owners to have these area repaired. Children will be closely monitored while in these areas.
